A family-owned Legacy

Welcome to The Farm at Carter Hill, a second generation family farm offering two stunning wedding venues amidst the beautiful landscapes of Marlborough, CT. What was once a cattle farm dating back to 1887, is now a premier wedding destination. The Farm at Carter Hill has been transformed from its humble roots as one of the oldest historic properties in Marlborough, CT, into a place where new memories are made.

In 2015, Mitch and Hazel Lichatz saw more than just a historic property with crumbling barns and empty pastures; they saw a canvas for family memories. With a vision and unwavering dedication, they breathed new life into every beam and corner of the property. Today, the original barn and its stunning 16-acre countryside setting stand as a testament to their passion and commitment to creating a space for loved ones to gather and make new memories.

In 2024 Beau and Erica made the heartfelt decision to purchase the property, allowing Erica’s parents to finally embrace retirement. After relocating from Maine with their daughter Lily, they returned to Erica’s hometown, eager to create new memories. With the support of Erica's brother Andrew, who joined them in the endeavor, they are dedicated to maintaining and growing the family business together. This new chapter is all about family, love, and shared dreams.

Beau Gardner

After 11 years of owning and operating Gardner Tree Service, Beau has brought his business expertise and dedication to The Farm at Carter Hill. He oversees all operations, from financial planning to hands-on property maintenance, always looking for ways to enhance the venue’s appeal. Most days, you’ll find him on-site, ready to offer a tour and share his vision.

Erica Gardner

The creative force behind every design detail, Erica blends artistic flair with a warm, collaborative spirit. She works closely with couples, turning their dreams into breathtaking realities. From her experience as a Hospitality Coordinator in Napa, Valley to designing and renovating Maine properties, she brings a unique touch that leaves a lasting mark on every celebration.

Food & Beverage Manager

Andrew Lichatz

Andrew has been in the Food, Beverage, and Hospitality industry for 18 years. When approached with the idea of moving home to CT to work on the family business, Andrew took it and ran. He has been instrumental in overseeing and directing each move from conception to completion.
